Playing This Sunday

I am playing percussion this Sunday. It will be my first time in a long time that I have done some drumming or percussion. I will do some playing whenever I can. I will be playing at the College Park Covenant Church.

Texting Champion

Two people split $100,000 for being the fastest texters on a cellphone. They were judged on how fast and how accurate they were. My thinking is "WTF." I know that there have been a texting championships, but seriously, being a texting champion is another way for people to be lazy and still win something. Its like some people are busting their asses in a sport or whatever, but some people just use their thumbs. I guess I really shouldn't complain because this is right up my alley perse as I am lazy. What will they think of next?

Getting Back Into Going To Church

A friend of mine, Pete Malloy, who is an Anglican minister, will be happy to know that I am finally going back to church. That's correct, I am going to College Park Covenant Church. I went last week for the first time just because a friend of mine was in town from Manitoba because his girlfriend is from Saskatoon and he was playing bass at the service.

So I went for lunch with one of the pastors, Brandon Shurr. We talked about various stuff and one thing about me getting into radio. Brandon said he started doing volunteering at CFCR, a community radio station in Saskatoon, and now he has a radio show on from 8-1o AM on Wednesdays which I thought was cool. But I expressed interest in drumming during services whether it will be doing some hand percussion or rocking the kit. Brandon said that he tell the other pastor Steve Menshenfriend to get in contact me about jamming and whatnot. I told Brandon that instead of moving the drum kit off of the stage each Sunday by setting it up somewhere and he looked as if he was into that idea.

So here's to getting back into going to church.

Its 2010 Now

Its 2010 now, will this year be better then last? 2009 was an up and down year for me. One of the big ups was starting to date my current girlfriend Penny. While a down was being laid off from my job regardless of me hating it. I need to look to the future and going back to school. I need to get off my ass and get an application. I have been talking forever about going to broadcasting college and becoming a radio DJ. Instead of talking about it, I should actually go and do it.

People also talk a lot about resolutions. Do you make them? I for the most part don't. Its not like people actually stick to them. People say they make them, but never follow through on them. I will just go with the flow and see what this year has in store for me.

To all my readers, friends, and family, I hope you have a safe and happy New Years. If 2009 was good, may 2010 be even better. Or if 2009 was crap, 2010 should defiantly be better.
