What A Christmas Present

As I was leaving Saskatoon earlier today, I saw two accidents. One was on the corner of Louise Ave. and Taylor St. I thought to myself "I bet that they are thinking 'Merry Christmas' in a sarcastic way. What a way to have to Christmas Eve go. Next as I was on the Sid Buckwold Bridge going north on Idylwyld Dr. I saw an accident on the south bound lanes on the bridge. I guess this puts a damper on those peoples Christmas. I made it to Prince Albert safe and sound which I am thankful for.

I guess I will take this opportunity to wish all my readers, friends, and family a very Merry Christmas, and a safe new year.

One Month

It has been one month since I have started dating my girlfriend Penny. Where did the time go? I guess that doesn't matter as I love her more she might know. I just can't wait till I have enough money to go see her. Even though this is a long distance relationship, I still love her. Happy one month anniversary babe. I hope to have many more to come. I love you very much!

Fantasie In Bubblewrap

I found this on YouTube. It is a pretty crazy yet good animated short.

The final minutes of a society of vocal bubblewrap as it faces its apocalypse.

"Bubblewrap" was completed August 2007 and has since made the festival rounds picking up some awards on its way. It is Arthur Metcalf's debut film.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Lose

It was overall a pretty good game, but we lost the Grey Cup due getting a too many men on the field penalty. That got Montreal ten yards closer. We lost by one point due to Montreal getting that field. As they say... there is always next year.

Still Jobless

I went for an interview yesterday and I didn't get the job. I am still looking for a job. The manager of hiring gave the same job to someone else. The search continues...

The Colour Of My Sideburns

I looked in the mirror in the bathroom and saw some hairs in my sideburns that were defiantly not the colour of my hair. I was wondering if they were white or just really light coloured. So proceeded to pull some out and they looked almost white. I wonder if its the stress that has started turning my hair colour. I have had stress since being laid off from my job and looking for a new one. I seriously hope its not that.

I will keep you posted. Okay, that's all.

H1N1 Flu Shot

Many people are getting the H1N1 flu shot. But is it worth it? I don't get flu shots, so why should I get this one? Its like people are going mental over the H1N1 virus. Sure they went mental over SARS, but they never made people get a shot over this. Is this really necessary? I under that once you get it that its a serious issue. But is getting the shot over blown. I just feel likes its a waste of time. This swine flu just came out of nowhere a number of months ago. Call me stubborn, but I am just not buying into it.

On a related topic, I have a friend who has swine flu and his name is Jesse Stegeman. I know he will be alright, but I just ask that you pray for him. I am doing that as well.

Not A Saint

Yesterday I was playing around on a song I written like two years ago in college. It is entitled "Am I A Saint?" Now if anybody remembers, I wrote that song based off a passage in the Bible. Now, for the life me, I can't find that passage. It is in the New Testament. I am just paraphrasing, but it is basically says that you are a saint for believing.

I got to thinking that I am not a saint. I have always felt this way about it. When you think of saints you think of one of the newest saints and that is Mother Teresa. What did I do to deserve being called a saint? Again just believing is apparently what I did to deserved being called a saint.

When you look at saints, you see they have something to deserve the honour of being called a saint. For instance Mother Theresa went all over the world to help the lowliest of the low and tried to make life better for people who didn't have that much. I haven't do half as much as other people.

If you look throughout history, there are people who are more worthy of the title of saint. Take William Wilberforce for instance. Sure he is not a true ordained saint, but he did stuff that makes him look like a saint. For instance, he got slavery abolish in England (some of you might that isn't anything special, but it is), was a politician that fought for the rights of all, and was an Evangelical Anglican. You might think that Wilberforce didn't do anything amazing, but there are probably a lot of stuff he did that a good portion of people don't know about. I recommend you watching the movie "Amazing Grace." It it based on true stories and real events and one of the characters in the movie is William Wilberforce. I am proud to call myself Anglican because of Wilberforce, but that's another blog post for another time. But the point is that in the movie "Amazing Grace" you see Wilberforce work to abolish slavery which is no small task. He was an amazing man that is deserving of being called a saint more so than myself.

Another reason I don't think I'm a saint is because is because when you think of the word saint, you think of this perfect person. I am the furthest thing from perfect. Maybe I am generalizing the term saints. But they give off this allure of perfection which in some way I can't comprehend or measure up.

I am just trying to wrap my head about the fact that simply believing makes all the difference in terms of being a saint, yet there are a lot of more people in this world who have done more things, and deserve the title of saint.

I just need some direction about where to go with this. I guess its good revisit this and just see where I am on this. But it seems I am exactly where I am on this where I was two years ago.

Pomplamoose, Jack Conte, And Nataly Dawn

Okay, so one day I was on YouTube and watching a Julia Nunes video and she had some music playing in the background. The artist was a duo called Poomplamoose. So I decided to check them out right after and I liked them. But today I decided to check out their other stuff and each of the two members solo stuff and it is great.

Beat The Horse by Pomplamoose is one of their many great songs. But this one is catchy beyond belief.

Flavors by Jack Conte is a good song by one half of Pomplamoose. He is ridiculously talented as plays a lot of different instruments. He even uses things that are not even instruments.

Waking Up by Nataly Dawn is a great song by the other half of Pomplamoose. She is also very talented.

For not being huge into indie music, I will say Pomplamoose, Jack Conte, and Nataly Dawn are indie music acts that I do like. So check out these three videos and all there other videos for very good music.

DOUCHE BAGS SHOULDN'T HAVE A LICENSE!

You might be wondering what this is all about. Well, I was driving home after work and I was stopped at the lights at the first set of the lights on Circle Dr. and Idylwyld Dr. going east. I was pulled ahead of this one red car at the lights when I stopped. The lights turned green, than I changed lanes to avoid being stuck behind a semi. Than I changed lanes to get ahead of the semi. Than I changed lanes again to not get stuck behind some traffic. I changed lanes to get to the furthest left, than that red car could have almost rear ended me, but he didn't thankfully. So this dude in the red car decided to start speeding up and passing car. On top of that he would slow down to be an ass clown, than I would have to change lanes to pass him. So I sped up a bit to get away from him, but he wouldn't stop. He would speed up to pass me, than I passed him. There was this person moving something big on Circle Dr. and has flashers on top of the item being moved, so the dude in the red car crowed me, not necessarily going into my lane, but not into my lane per se, but enough to make me go on the shoulder. So I pass the truck moving this thing (I don't know what it was) and passed the car. So everything was fine for a few moments, than this douche tried to run me off the road, so I could have ended up in the ditch. That went down the 14th St. exit and went out of site.

That dude is lucky I didn't get his license plate number or I would have reported him to the police. I was pissed at that ass clown when I got home. I am calm now though.

DragonForce Concert

DragonForce RULES! Hopefully the concert is not sold out because that is what I get for looking after my nieces and nephews. My sister is going to the Keith Urban concert on Wendesday, so I took that day off to watch them. But if that concert is sold out, I will go to Collective Soul instead. Collective Soul is great in concert as I saw them on New Years Eve at Prairieland Park. DragonForce is at the Odeon this Friday, September 25th.

Tone Matrix

Someone on my friends list on Facebook posted a link to this. It is pretty neat. You click on the squares and it makes a tone. You click on various squares and makes different sequence of tones. Its fun to see what you can come up with. You could use the tones in ambient style of music. Anyways, check it out.

Family Reunions

I was meaning to post this a week or so ago, but I didn't. So yeah, deal with it.

On the August long weekend my dad held the 2009 Burton Family Reunion for the second time in 17 years. I didn't get to spend the entire time at the reunion as I had to work on the Sunday even though I didn't want to. Nevertheless, it was a great a time when I was there.

As I look back and reflected on the reunion, I thought to myself that family reunions are a good way to meet people within your family that you have never met before. They are good to get reacquainted with family you haven't seen in years. Really, who knows how long you have left to met and reacquaint yourself with family?

People have changed over the 17 years since I have last seen some of them. For instance they have aged, gotten married, had kids, etc.. Reunions bring together family from all over Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia. Or at least this one did.

I will give props to my dad and his three sisters (my aunts) for getting this together. When my family puts on an event or family gathering, you won't leave feeling hungry at all. We had food all weekend. I must say that supper on Saturday was especially interesting in terms of the way they cooked it. They put food in cream cans and cooked it over an open fire. Sunday breakfast was great too. Pancakes, hash browns, and sausages was AWESOME! My family can put out a spread that is second to none.

The events that took place was a silent auction which ended at 1:30PM Sunday. I didn't win what I bid on. There was another item I was bidding on, but my cousin kept bidding just to bid me up. Sunday evening there was a live auction and my dad's auctioneer friend did the auctioning. There was bingo and I got a bingo on the one of the games. When I called out bingo, I scared the shit out of my sister. There was a planned kaiser tournament, but it ended up being four teams. Kaiser is a great card game. There was a planned horseshoe tournament, but I don't know if it happened.

Overall, it was fun. The 2011 Burton Reunion will be in Bethany, Manitoba. Next year another reunion for another side of my family...

Take Everything - Seventh Day Slumber

I finally bought the album Take Everything by Seventh Day Slumber. I went to Scott's Christian Parable twice and listened to the album. If you have listened to this album, you might think that these are just worship songs. Yes, they are. But they some of the songs you have heard of before are done in a way that makes them different and unique thus enjoyable to listen to.

They cover the song called "Famous One" and they arrange the intro and pre-verse different than you would hear from your typical praise and worship artist. I dig this album, plus I am trying to get into more Christian Rock. I recommend this album. If nothing else, give this album a listen. I dug it the first time I listened to it. Listening it a second time is what got me to buy it. I hope you enjoy the album as much as I do.

Not Much To Say

I haven't really had much to say. Is that a good thing? Some might say so, but others would say not. I guess I will touch up on some stuff that I have been thinking about lately. But right now, just thought I would stop in and make a little post.

Perez Hilton Is Still A Douche Bag

We all know that Michael Jackson has passed away. But Perez Hilton chose to be the douche bag that he is and make a tasteless joke. The following is what Perez Hilton is posted on his website before it was taken down due to complaints.

Perez Hilton is known for being a douche bag by slagging on people by doing stuff such as the above pic. That is why Perez Hilton is a douche. One good thing is the fact that Perez got his ass kicked by the manager of the Black Eyes Peas.

My one status on Facebook: "still thinks Perez Hilton is douche bag" got three thumbs up and a ton of comments on it. People just don't like him. Perez Hilton can fall off the face of the earth and nobody would mind. I certainly wouldn't. Maybe we can get The Black Eyed Peas' manager to beat his ass again...

Michael Jackson Passes Away At 50

Unless you have been living under a rock or shut off all forms of media, than you will know that "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson has passed away. He suffered cardiac arrest (heart attack) and was taken to hospital where he slipped into coma, than passed away. He was only 50 years old.

Jackson did revolutionize the music industry more than we can comprehend. Sure he has bad press over the last number of years, but that doesn't diminish the influence he had over many of today's acts in the music industry. A lot people use his style in their dance style in music videos and probably don't even realize they are doing so.

It is a shock that Michael Jackson passed away and at 50. A lot of people are dying younger and younger it seems. But some people go hard in the prime of their life and die young. In all honesty, what do we have to be sad about? Sure its sad that Michael Jackson passed away, but he did have a full life and a great career. He rose from seemingly nothing into a major international superstar. He touched the lives of so many. We should celebrate the good things about Jackson instead of dwelling on the fact that he is dead. Again, don't get me wrong about his death not being sad and tragic because it is.

Cherish his contributions to music because one innovative man has died. Some people may not care, but R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

What's Up?

I haven't been posting much. I haven't really had anything to post about. Someone give me something to write about. Or not. You don't have to. Thought I would make another post for the hell of it. I hate having writers block. Don't you? Anyways, later peeps.

26 Is Just A Two With A Six Behind It

So I am officially 26 years of age. I don't feel much different when I did when I turned 25. Sure it is good to go and celebrate your birthday, but it is just another day in a sense. Some people use this as an excuse to get drunk. But not me. I don't put much stalk into birthdays and haven't for a long ass time. So happy birthday to me. Prepared to reply to everyone who wishes me an impressonal Facebook birthday greeting.

Thoughts On Baptist Priest Getting Tased

As I promised, my thoughts on a Baptist Priest getting tased.

Reading comments on YouTube or wherever, a lot of people seem to think this all the fault of Pastor Steven Anderson. That just makes me sick! People go along with what police do because police can do no wrong. FUCK OFF! That is a bullshit way to look at things. Police uphold the law yes, but above the law no. I respect what the police try to do. But then a bunch of corrupt cops ruin it for the rest who try to uphold the law.

It took seven or eight cops to take down one man who wasn't even resisting arrest. All Steven Anderson did was ask why he was being put under arrest. The one cop couldn't even use his pea brain to think of a half intelligent response in answer to his question. So immediately they assume he is resisting arrest. But look at the video evidence. It's there in black and white. If you are as ignorant as those cops, than I am not surprised how you could surmise that Pastor Anderson was resisting arrest.

Pastor Anderson was within his rights to ask why he was being put under arrest. But again, that cop couldn't come up with a valid reason so they had to resort tasing him. They didn't even read him his rights. If Pastor Anderson was fighting out of being handcuffed while his rights were read to him than I would say yes he was resisting arrest. He was not handcuffed and he was not read his rights. He was not even asked for his license and registration. Where in the video do you ever see Pastor Anderson resisting arrest? It even shows Pastor Anderson asking for that dog to be brought back out because the dog was alerted to his car. But again they couldn't grant that request because they know they are in the wrong and putting him under wrongful arrest. They didn't want admit they were wrong. So what do they do? They tase him because they are not man enough to admit when they are wrong.

Why do a portion of cops feel the need tase or beat down someone when it is not necessary? With Pastor Steve Anderson its another example. Another example is that Polish man in Vancouver International Airport who apprently had a stapler and a chair was taken down by four cops, tased, and died from being tased. Is this world coming to a state where we can't feel safe around cops? The United States seems to be heading in this direction.

Case in point is the following:

The cops used force where force wasn't needed. The person surrendered after reaching a dead end. I guess the cop was going off adrenaline and still decided to kick him in the end and knock him out. Another cop came and give him a few good shots with his nightstick. Than they high five and pat each other on the back. Real good job cops. I bet you feel big.

Reading comments on the Pastor Steven Anderson story, people seem to be ignorant based on him being very right wing. Who FUCKING cares? That is no reason to say he deserved it. Nobody deserves it and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Baptist Priest Gets Tased

The following is a video of Baptist Pastor Steve Anderson getting tased by police in Arizona at a so called border crossing stop. I will give my thoughts later. But the screams of horror by Pastor Anderson are just disturbing. This all could have been avoided. My thoughts later.

Literacy For Life Banquet

The Literacy For Life banquet was held on Tuesday. It was a very good event. The first speaker Robert Heidbreder was pretty good. He was very quirky in the way he spoke. But Erin Gruwell was an amazing speaker. She spoke about the Freedom Writers which became a movie. It was very moving. She even brought signed copies of the book Freedom Writer for everyone. Again a great evening indeed.

Moving Out, Moving Back In

You might be wondering about the title of this post. Well, if you know where I am currently living in a basement suite you may know that I have to move out because my landlord sold the house and the new owners have other plans for the suite. So I am back in with my sister. In a way it is good because I can get some of my debt paid off and I won't have to pay the increased rent in September.

Once I get some of my debt paid off I will look for a new place. I want a basement suite preferably. This way I don't have to pay utilities. All I would have to pay is rent covering everything.

Right now I am packing up and cleaning the suite getting everything ready to be looked over. Hopefully I can get my damage deposit back. I would be able to use the damage deposit towards paying off some my debt.

Is It The Dog? Or Is It The Owner?

The other day, a friend from the United States said she was standing in front of her house while her vehicle was in the process of being towed to go get fixed. Then from down the street a pitbull from down the street came up to her and bit her leg. The ambulance was called, animal control was called, and I do believe the police were called. She also called her husband to get home because this happened. When the husband, who is also a friend, got home, he accessed the situation. The owner was said to look like a black drug dealer with bling bling and what not. She said that might have something to do with why she got bit. The owner came over and said he was sorry, but he was told by my friends that they are getting a lawyer after him. They have a witness in the tow truck driver who was about who was about to kill the dog. Not only that, but the dog was wearing only a choker and not an actual collar. As well, the dog wasn't on a leash and from what I understand of the story, the owner couldn't get control of the dog. Now the dog will be in quarantine for ten days to check for rabies, than it will be put down. My friend went to the hospital and got some shots as a precaution.

From what I understand of the story, the owner didn't even attempt to chase down his dog. The fact the dog wasn't on a leash will also be brought up in court. The owner will have to pay all medical costs associated with this. The owner was not up-to-date on the dogs shots even though he said he was. According to what my friends said, it is city, county, and or state law that all dogs need to be up-to-date on all shots. Basically, there are a number of items that are going to brought against the owner when they go to court. Now my friend doesn't like pitbulls because of this.

Now I posse a question to you: Is it the dogs fault? Or is it the owners fault? With all the discussion I have heard on this issue, people have been saying it is the owners fault. That I do agree with. Than a few pointed to the dog breed based on the reputation it has gained over time. People may use the dog as a scapegoat so they don't have to take responsibility for their actions as an owner. That is unfair to the animal because if their owner doesn't teach and train it, or even abuse and neglect it than of course they will do the things they do. Than again, some owners train their dogs to be aggressive and attack people. I do understand that some breeds are naturally aggressive. But with a little work any dog can be friendly and kind.

When I lived in the country on the farm, our neighbour had a big fat rottweiler which is one of the nicest dog you will ever meet. Unfortunately, Madson (which was the name of the dog) had people scared of him because of his size and the fact that he was a rottweiler. That goes to show you that people have these conceived notions about certain breeds of dogs.

I do like dogs and they are one of my favorite animals. Never once did I treat one of my dogs like crap. Its like the old adage: "You get what you give." This is true with a lot of things and not just us humans. If you give a dog respect, it will for the most part respect you back. Some breeds of dogs were domesticated from wild breeds thus have some wild instincts to them. I am not trying to scapegoat certain breeds, but some breeds may go back to those wild instincts and attack their owners.

The old adage of: "You get what you give" rings true with some friends who live in the state of Washington. They took in a dog that is, if I remember correctly, a pitbull rottweiler cross. This dog was abused and neglected because when they took in this dog, it was covered in dog crap and dog urine. It weighed considerably less then it should have as it weighed 40 pounds. It apparently the dog had fleas as well. All my friend had to do was show the dog that he was a friend by gently petting the dog and being nice to it. When they cleaned up the dog it was in pain because of how it was when my friend took the dog in. The nursed the dog back to good health and it is at its correct weight.

Owners can make a dog fit what they want and it shows. With the last story of my friends in the state of Washington, it shows that there are good owners out there. I do feel as in the case of my friend who got bit, the owner is liable not necessarily the dog because the dog sometimes doesn't know any better.

Do Bumper Stickers Support Our Troops?

Bumper stickers are a lame way to "say" you support our troops without having to verbalize that you actually do. It is like bumper sticker Christians. They put bumper stickers on their cars to try and make it look they are Christians. But it is a cop out. A few quotes on a bumper sticker or a trooper supporting pin looking bumper sticker isn't going to cut it. If people truly support the troops, than they wouldn't just stick a bumper sticker on their vehicles. I can even see through that lame attempt to support the troops. Putting a bumper sticker on your car is like saying: "I support the troops, how about you?" I choose not to put bumper stickers on my car. I do support the troops as much as the next guy, I just think the Afghanistan mission is crock.

I see bumper stickers all the time and see them as an eye sore. Bumper stickers don't equate support of the troops. Sure they may say "I support our troops" or something to that effect. But do they really support them? I bet if you asked people if they support them, they may hesitantly say no. But if they were to say yes I might think they are lying.

What does support of the troops really look like? Verbalizing, protesting, writing to your government? I don't have that answer. But what I do know that it is more than just a bumper sticker on some vehicle. Truthfully, who will see it on your vehicle. Sure I see a lot of them, but I won't necessarily see it on yours. Your intentions might good, but that might not be the way you truly feel.

I read that something someone said: "A bumper sticker is not supporting our troops... insisting they come home from the phony war in Afghanistan is."

That rings true. The Canadians troops are fighting a war that is not even ours to begin with. I would rather have people support the troops in a mission they believed in rather than fake it in a mission they don't believe in.

Corner Gas Has Closed Down

Corner Gas, the now iconic sitcom is done forever. I have been stewing over the final episode since watching it Saturday on the Comedy Network. I didn't envision it ending the way it did. I envisioned it ending the way Hank's day dream went a season or two ago. Basically Hank's day dream ended with Lacey leaving Dog River and going back to Toronto. I thought it might have ended that way, but with Brent telling Lacey that he was in love with her. That was not the case with the ending. Watching it, I thought it would have ended with Brent going on a national comedy tour (Brent was doing stand up comedy every Wednesday as the story went), Wanda taking over Corner Gas, and the other characters doing their usual stuff. Instead Brent doing stand up comedy was something on a list of things he wanted to do. The next thing on his list to wrestle a bear, but ending doing the thing after that and went fly fishing in the Yukon. Lacey opened a Ruby in Wollerton, but was shut down by local health inspectors. Wanda finished her degree in theoretical physics and went on to make more than minimum wage at Corner Gas. Hank remains unemployed. Emma and Oscar are still married even though Emma ignored doctors advice to divorce Oscar. Karen and Davis fell in love and get married, but to other people.

Overall, the show was awesome. You didn't have to be from Saskatchewan to appreciate the humor of it. I thought that the show could have lasted a few more seasons as could Seinfeld. At least they gave it a good send off with show interviewing the cast and some of the production crew than airing the final episode. They didn't just end it without any warning like some shows do. In some cases it is good to end a show before it comes overkill. I know for a fact that Corner Gas wouldn't have become overkill. Like Seinfeld, Corner Gas is one of those shows that I can watch without getting sick of it.

In the history of pop culture in Canada, Corner Gas has found a place quite nicely. Whether you are from Burnaby, British Columbia or Moncton, New Brunswick or anywhere in between, Corner Gas has undoubtedly become a part of our Canadian indentity and culture. When talking about Corner Gas with another person, you automatically know what episode they are talking about. Or you should for the most part. Corner Gas will live on for years even though it is no longer on the air with new episodes.

Now that Corner Gas is no longer on the air, what is CTV going to do to replace it? Corner Gas is irreplaceble, but something has to be done. After all, Corner Gas did bring in no less than a million viewers every Monday. It will be a hit in the ratings for CTV and the Comedy Network to an exstent. I just can't fathom Corner Gas not have anymore episodes. Corner Gas has become one of my new favorite shows of all-time alongside The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Melrose Place (yes I like Melrose Place, so what?), among others.

Than you Corner Gas, you had an incredible run. You will surely be missed. Corner Gas is one of a kind and as I said has etched out a place in the history of Canadian pop culture. Corner Gas maybe gone, but will not be forgotten. Thanks again!

WWE Draft - Supplemental Portion

Here are the results of the supplemental portion of the 2009 WWE draft.

Raw:
Mr. Kennedy from SmackDown!
WWE Unified Tag Team Champion Primo from SmackDown!
Nikki Bella from SmackDown!
Chavo Guerrero from SmackDown!
Hornswoggle from ECW
Festus from SmackDown!
The Brian Kendrick from SmackDown!
Brie Bella from SmackDown!

SmackDown!:
Shad from Raw
Alicia Fox from ECW
Mike Knox from Raw
Candice Michelle from Raw
Ricky Ortiz from ECW
Layla from Raw
John Morrison from ECW
JTG from Raw
Dolph Ziggler from Raw
Charlie Haas from Raw

ECW:
Ezekiel Jackson from SmackDown!
Zack Ryder from SmackDown!
DH Smith from SmackDown! not Raw like it says on WWE.com
Natalya from SmackDown!
Hurricane Helms from SmackDown!

The Brian Kendrick being drafted to Raw is a bad move. He will get buried and he will get ring time on house shows and possibly WWE Superstars on WGN. If Kendrick wants some face time on TV than being on Raw is the best spot for him. SmackDown! and ECW would be more suitable.

Hurricane Helms going to ECW is not a good thing. Helms is a talented wrestler, but was pretty much buried when he returned to SmackDown! after his neck injury. After he confroted Matt Hardy on SmackDown! he was pretty much taken off TV. Lets hope he gets some face time on ECW. He deserves a chance to wrestle on TV and hasn't really gotten the chance since his return. Afterall they jobbed him Vladamir Kozlov

Hopefully things will turn around for Charlie Haas now that he is back on SmackDown!. I hope they have stopped having Haas imitate past and present WWE superstars. When given the chance Haas can wrestle with the best of them. Maybe they could reform The Worlds Greatest Tag Team. The tag team division could use a boost and what better way to do it than reform The Worlds Greatest Tag Team? Or is Shelton Benjamin a full-time singles competitor now? Either way Haas needs to get a push to the Intercontinental Championship if nothing else. A good move putting Haas on SmackDown! as he was being wasted on Raw.

Putting Festus on Raw is a bit of an odd choice if they don't have Jessie going to Raw as well. If Jessie isn't going to Raw than they need to change Festus's demeanor if a singles push for Festus is going to work. If the WWE is putting Festus on Raw without Jessie than they just broke up another tag team. I guess we will see how this will work in due time.

John Morrison can hopefully get a good singles push. I mean even though I am not a big fan of Morrison, he should have been the one to have been drafted to Raw. Afterall, he will not buried like The Miz will be. Either way, it is time for Morrison to go back to the singles division where he can get a push towards the Intercontinental Championship. Maybe he could have a good match with Rey Mysterio or whoever. Good choice putting Morrison on SmackDown!.

What are the Tag Team Champions going to accomplish by going to Raw? They already fought Simply Priceless on SmackDown!. They could have kept Cryme Tyme on Raw and bolstered the tag team division, but used Raw to do it. Or maybe they might be roving champions by going to all three brands and just have Raw as their home show when they are not the champions. Will the WWE having Primo and Carlito as roving champions? We will find out soon enough.

Natalya should have stayed on SmackDown! or went to Raw where there is a womens division and compete for one of the titles. She could still be on ECW as a manager, but wrestle on SmackDown! or Raw.

DH Smith going to ECW can be seen as good as now he can team up with Tyson Kidd aka T.J. Wilson. Afterall, DH Smith and Tyson Kidd teamed up in the indies. Lets see if they push them towards the Tag Team Championship. That would be sweet if they did.

Lets hope Mr. Kennedy will get a good push now that he is back on Raw. Did he even have a match when he returned to SmackDown!? I don't think he did. If he gets some face time on TV, they better him and push him good. He still deserves a title shot after those doctors misdiagnosed how long he would be out with an injury. Mr. Kennedy is ready, but keeps getting screwed for various reasons.

The supplemental draft is a way to move superstars nobody really cares to brands while being under the radar. As history shows us, some of the superstars drafted in the supplemental draft have been released. With this be the case with any of these draftees? Chuck Palumbo was drafted to Raw in the supplemental draft last year. But now where is he? He is on the unemployment line. We will find out soon enough who gets released who were in the supplemental draft.

WWE Draft - The Televised Portion

The WWE is holding their annual draft. The televised portion is always shown on Monday Night Raw. The results of the televised portion of the draft are as follows:

Raw:
United States Champion MVP from SmackDown!
Big Show from SmackDown!
Matt Hardy from SmackDown!
WWE Champion Triple H from SmackDown!
The Miz from ECW
Divas Champion Maryse from SmackDown!

SmackDown!:
Women's Champion Melina from Raw
CM Punk from Raw
Kane from Raw
"Y2J" Chris Jericho from Raw
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio from Raw

ECW:
Vladamir Kozlov from SmackDown!

I will post the supplemental draft results later. But I have a few things on my mind about the televised portion of the draft.

Why was The Miz drafted over John Morrison? Sure I am not a big fan of either, but Morrison is more talented than The Miz. The Miz is going to burried on Raw and forgotten about. Even though that is a good thing in my opinion, The Miz was better off on ECW where he would have got some TV time.

I guess Valadmir Kozlov going to ECW is proof that he is getting depushed. I mean I did read a number of weeks ago that the WWE is souring on Kozlov. This just seems like further proof to back it up. I myself feel as though Kozlov is overrated and ECW is good place to groom Kozlov for something bigger if there is something bigger for him.

Chris Jericho going back to SmackDown! is not that big of a shock. He did after start on Smackdown! when the brand split started. It will be interesting to see who have Jericho feud against. Maybe a bit of a program with Undertaker. There are a few possible programs Jericho could do.

The one thing that should have happened is Christian should have been drafted to either Raw or SmackDown!. He is going to waste on ECW. But Vince McMahon doesn't see Christian as a main eventer which is unfortunate because Christian is talented beyond belief.

Will Matt Hardy get his big break on Raw? Hardy should get a push towards the WWE Championship as he more talented than Jeff. Jeff Hardy only got a push because of how over he is and not based on talent. Matt deserves a chance to run with the WWE Championship I mean he has been on the cusp of something big for months and months, but gets injured around the start of his big pushes. Matt Hardy has been healthy for a while now and just ready.

Overall there is not much else that is worth talking about. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the WWE.com supplemental portion of the draft.

Don't Give Them The Satisfaction

I read the latest blog post by my friend Mark Jensen. He basically said that he will stop blogging for the summer so he can be free from distractions. Or minimal ones anyways. That is something I can respect. But what gets me is the fact that he will is worried about what this so-called "big brother" of the Internet thinks of him.

I left comment basically saying that he shouldn't give them the satisfaction of quieting his voice. I am a supporter of freedom of speech and he should continue to blog. He shouldn't care about what someone who doesn't even know him thinks about him. But this day in age, what people thinks of themselves is everything. It is sickening that people need that validation in their personal lives. Your career is different because that is how you make your living obviously.

People seem so consumed with if the most popular person thinks highly of them. You see it on TV and in the movies. When the popular person at school notices them and for a fleeting moment excepts them into her group, they are like: "OMG they noticed me." Some people must have a lack of self-esteem if they try to get the popular person to notice them. I could be wrong though.

Basically, what I am saying is do something because you want to do it not because you are doing it to please the masses. So Mark, don't give them the satisfaction. My life isn't anything great at this point in time, but I blog because it allows me to vent, post ideas, give an update as to how I am doing, etc., etc.. He should blog for the same reasons. I may not be able to change his mind, but this should give him something to think about.

This Is The End My Beautiful Friend The End

Corner Gas is coming up to an end. It is sad for all Corner Gas fans. There are only three episodes left. This is their sixth season. I wish they would reconsider and go on for another four seasons because I believe they could. They are compared to Seinfeld due to their wit and humor. Each episode is a separate episode also. Here is to what was a great run. Corner Gas never had less than a million viewers. I will miss Corner Gas. Corner Gas has spawned a phenomena all across Canada. Thank you Corner Gas, you will be missed.

The Sound I Want

I have an idea for the way I want "What People Do For Beauty" to sound like. I would like a full band sound, but if I am not able to do that I want a nice little guitar solo. Hopefully may friend Mark Jensen can do a nice little solo for the song if nothing else. The idea popped in my head when I was playing "What People Do For Beauty" earlier today.

I will keep you posted on the progress of this song.

Adam And Eve - Right And Wrong

One day I started thinking about Adam and Eve. Thinking about right and wrong. Now, I asked myself a question:

Didn't Adam and Eve know the difference between right and wrong when they were told by the serpent to eat the fruit off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?

This leads me into the next question is just thought of:

Were they that easily influenced that they ate the fruit off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil without thinking twice?

God did tell them specifically not to eat the fruit off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Genesis 2:16-17 says:

"16And the LORD God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17but you must not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.'"

See God explicitly says not to eat the fruit off that tree, but they did anyways. Did they know the consequences of their actions? Sure, as God said point blank what would happen. But they did it anyways.

Was the temptation of seeing if they could get away with it too strong that they thought they would do it anyways?

It seems as though Adam and Eve trusted the serpent because he seemingly pitched a good deal to Adam and Eve.

In Genesis 3:4-5:

4"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5"For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Was being able to see the reason that why they trusted the serpent?

Some signs point to yes. But was it truly worth it? Did disobeying God make them feel like a badass? I doubt they thought: "We are sure showed God!"

S0me signs point to the fact that they didn't know what they were doing is wrong as they didn't have knowledge like we do now to make the connection and see what we are doing is wrong. But you always here about Adam and Eve having the freewill to choose. If that is the case wouldn't the have just chose to not eat that fruit off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Didn't the consequences of God's wrath pop in their minds be a factor in deciding against eating the forbidden fruit? Afterall, God in the Old Testament was more wrathful than in the New Testament or now.

This something I have been thinking about. Maybe someone can make sense of it all.

Feel Like Recording

I haven't done recording in a while and so I got the urge to do some recording. I will keep you posted as to what I got done. Maybe I might record "What People Do For Beauty" or "Try" or "I Remember" or "Irish Spring." But keep watching my MySpace page for new songs posted.

Is St. Patrick's Day Pointless?

Most people who are non-Christian make a big deal about St. Patrick's Day. They feel they have to get drunk whether they are Irish or not. I myself have never seen what the big deal is with St. Patrick's and the fascination with getting drunk? Do most people not realize that St. Patrick is a religious figure in the realm of Christianity.

I find it ironic they are using a Christian's saints birthday as an excuse to drink and get drunk. There are plenty of other days that people can do that on. Why does it have to be one specific day. Plus he is not even Irish. St. Patrick is Welsh. But most don't see that.

People go out, get drunk, than have a bad hangover the next day. Sure I like to drink every now and then, but some people make a big deal about having to go out on St. Patrick's Day and a get tanked. Again I ask, why do you need a certain day to go out and drink?

I feel as though aside from the Christianity aspect of St. Patrick's Day, is using this day as an excuse to drink is pointless? I guess maybe I don't get it. But I feel it is pointless. Maybe someone can explain to me the whole point. Is a hangover worth it to drink on one day? Isn't that what Fridays, Saturdays, birthdays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and other such days for?

Andrew "Test" Martin Dead At 33

I am sure most wrestling fans and people browsing news in general have heard that former WWF/WWE and TNA star Andrew "Test" Martin has died. According to reports, Test died in his Tampa, Florida condo. The reports didn't say how he died when the story first broke and the death has yet to be confirmed at this time.

I am going to say that I was never a Test fan, but to say this isn't fucked up is a mistake. But people are blaming Vince McMahon already based on the fact that McMahon has been associated with steroids in the past. That is bullshit because we don't even know if steroids were even the cause Test's death. Sure steroids were the cause of many wrestlers deaths, but that doesn't mean that is the case with Test. But people are going to assume that based on his size. That is bullshit and like someone in a chatroom named Scott said that maybe Test actually worked out.

That is sad the mentality of a lot of pro wrestling fans, especially the hardcore, unknowledgable, WWE marks or fans if you will. I am a WWE fan, but I not a dumb WWE fan. I don't play into the bullshit that Vince McMahon throws at you. I don't automatically assume that Vince McMahon is behind all deaths associated with former WWWF/WWF/WWE talent. Some die from heart attacks with being too obsese such as Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoa'i. Some have died from dieases like cancer such as John "Earthquake" Tenta. But again people automatically assume a drug, alcohol, or steroid related death.

If this does turn out to be a steroid related death, this will give more fuel to Colin Cowherds' fire. If you remember, he ripped on Eddie Guerrero on his radio show "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on ESPN Radio because steroids played a part in his death.

A fews final thoughts about this. Here is a sobering thought, over 60, give or take, wrestlers in the last ten years have died before they reach the age of 50. Test just adds to the growing number. Finally Test was only 33. Sure a lot of people at that age did, but Test had a lot of life left to live.

"C.C. Likes To..."

Google Game: Go to Google and type in quotation marks your name and then "likes to" (ex. "Steve likes to"). Then type in the first ten things that come up and repost in your own note and tag people so that they do it too!

1. C.C. likes to score a lot of points! (Of course I do. Who doesn't?)
2. C.C. likes to stress that their licenses are adapted to many jurisdictions. (What does that even mean?)
3. C.C. likes to characterize itself to Wall Street as a content company. (Right... all the time...)
4. C.C. likes to jump on the freedom bandwagon. (Sure, freedom is a good thing to have.)
5. C.C. likes to hit and is from the west coast. (Well the prairies is as close to the that as I will come to being from the west coat).
6. C.C. likes to sleep too! (Hells yeah! Sleep does a body good.)
7. C.C. likes to play and have fun. (Of course I do. Who doesn't?)
8. C.C. likes to lie on our blankets. (Sure, I will go with that.)
9. C.C. likes to call "conscious cuisine" or "feel good food." (What does that mean?)
10. C.C. likes to bat. (I don't play softball or baseball all that much, but sure).

Inspired

Yes I have been inspired to write a song. Thanks to Shawn, someone who I went to college with, was the source of this inspiration. He wrote a note on Facebook which inspired me. The song is entitled "I Remember." I am still working on the lyrics. So stay tuned for that.

KFC CAN ON TAYLOR STREET CAN FUCK OFF!!!

Sorry for the cursing will happen in the following, but I am so frustrated and pissed off at KFC. I know its been a while, I had some topics I wanted to blog about, but I didn't get to it. So here is my rant...

I ordered a large popcorn chicken, jumbo fries, medium gravy, and a 2L pop between 4:30 - 4:45 PM on February 14th, 2009. The order wasn't to my place within the 45 minutes like they said. I phoned back the first time and asked what is happening with it. This woman said to wait ten more minutes. I waited almost an hour. I called back a second time. I tried to get my order free, but they said to wait as they would "be there soon."
They also gave me a 20 per cent discount on a future purchase. The delivery driver still didn't show up.

I phoned a third time and he gave me the run around. I told him that I wanted my food free, so here is the run around. He told me that they don't have any control over what their drivers do since they have a company deliver for them.
What bullshit eh? He said to pay what I owed for the meal and I would get the amount I ordered in free food next time when it got there. I told the guy I told to that I would take the food and not pay for it. He than replied that he would not deliver to my place again. I stated that I don't want to pay for cold food. I told him I wanted my original order free as well as the 20 per cent discount and the amount of product that equaled this order free. But he would do that. I took down the name of who I talked to, his managers name, the date, and time of the third call.

I am going to call and talk to the manager about this. I am also going to find that courier services number and call them. I may even have to filed a complaint with the company that does their delivery service. It is terrible, yet I live within WALKING DISTANCE of this KFC. I already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about the Taylor Street KFC. Hopefully I can get this solved. I waited over FOUR FUCKING HOURS and I still didn't get my food.

Don't let businesses get away with this shit. Stand up for yourself and fight for your rights as a consumer. Don't let the run around do you in. Don't let their "I'm sorry, here is a discount or free meal for next time" bullshit sucker you in. If they are in the wrong, they shouldn't be getting off Scott free like they didn't do anything wrong.

I JUST WANTED SOME FUCKING FOOD. IS THAT SO FUCKING HARD TO ASK FOR? A simple delivery to a place within walking distance and they couldn't even get that right. How FUCKING sad!

Writing Music

I have been writing music lately since I got my guitar back from Mother's Music. Well, I have been putting tunes to lyrics I already have. I have two songs pretty much complete. They are entitled "Irish Spring" and "On My Way To Manitoba." Now I just need to record them to see how they sound. I did a rough take of "Irish Spring" and it sounded horrible. I will keep you updated on the whole process of which songs are finished and whatnot. So keep on the look out for my music.

Collective Soul Was AWESOME

So at the last minute or close to it I got a ticket to go see Collective Soul. Or they were the main reason. They were at Prairieland Park playing New Years Eve. They were awesome. I didn't get to go when they were in Saskatoon earlier in 2008. They played a number of songs off their first album. It was awesome how they ended their set. They made mention as to how they were going to be recording a new album. They played a little bit of two new songs. But Collective Soul was AWESOME! At least they played one of my favorite songs by them entitled "The World I Know."

There were retards pushing and shoving trying to make their way to the front. A few of us had to make stand our ground. There was this one woman behind me who was watching my back to try and stop pushing forward. But finally I let her stand in front of me. I was right up at the front. This one chick was trying to push her way forward, but she just ended up getting grabbed and shoved to the back. I ended up pushing this one dude and he backed off pretty quick. The one couple was trying to push their way to the front. I put my arm up so they couldn't get to the front and they got pissed. This chick was being a bitch about it and complaining. But I stood my ground. They finally got a spot after another couple left. This was all during Collective Soul.

There was security their, but most of male security were fat. There were to really fat ones who didn't do much. They had to toss some people out during Collective Soul. Dumbasses!

Hope you had a great New Years Eve. Happy New Years!

There were two bands before Collective Soul. The first band was Gong Show. They were good and did covers of more classic rock. The second band was called Half Hour Shower. They did covers of classic rock, metal, alternative rock. They also did two of their own original songs.
